They still don’t get it

Gov. Christie has voided a $37,500 payment authorization from the Delaware River Port Authority to American Continental Group, a lobby firm. Christie said it amounted to a no-bid contract that he had banned last year. He said if the DRPA wants to hire a lobbyist it can apply for a waiver. But why should it? When is the DRPA going to get the same close scrutiny as the sewerage commission in Passaic? It's a patronage dump just like the outfit that Christie took over. More than that, the bi-state agency is a dump for the Camden County Democrats under Boss George Norcross. That's how vice chair, Jeff Nash, got there. He's also a long-time trough-swiller at the Camden County Freeholder Board. And rumor is Boss Norcross wants him to be Cherry Hill mayor. The DRPA wants to raise tolls to $5 a ride in July and there is way too much personnel for the operation of four bridges and PATCO. When is someone going to check into what those "workers" actually do and can the ones without real jobs?
