Assemblyman Domenick DiCicco says until higher standards of accountability and transparency are in place at the Delaware River Port Authority and an accurate assessment of DRPA’s financial condition is made, there is no legitimate reason for the proposed $1 toll increase -- to $5 per vehicle -- scheduled for next summer. DiCicco says the DRPA board should reject the toll increase. He didn't say it, but Gov. Christie should ask for the resignation of Vice Chairman Jeff Nash who has been around to know what was going on and did nothing. Nash, also a long-time Camden County freeholder, is water-carrier for the Boss George Norcross machine. Let Norcross run Nash for Cherry Hill mayor if Nash's perpetual smirk has to be in public life. Since the latest problems came under CEO John Matheussen, a former Republican state senator, he should move on too.
