Looks like there is a ray of hope for the Delaware River Port Authority. Pennsylvania Gov.Tom Corbett appointed new members for his side including himself. Then he was named chairman. Assemblyman Domenick DiCicco said, "With Governor Christie’s thorough scrutiny of every cent that the DRPA spends and Governor Corbett cleaning house on the board, I hope we can finally reform this agency and root out the waste, fraud and mismanagement.'' Just before he left office in defeat, Gov. Corzine re-appointed New Jersey's delegation. That included Jeff Nash, political water carrier for Boss George Norcross of Camden County. Nash is also a county freeholder. Corbett and the Pennsylvania guys should take advantage of every chance to squeeze Nash until the smirk leaves his face. The DRPA operates four bridges across the Delaware and the PATCO train line but is most known for being a political patronage pit that wastes money and for raising tolls, which are scheduled to go to $5 in the summer. Corbett says he believes the DRPA should focus on transportation issues and stay out of economic development. That's gotta make the political hacks nervous.
